Totally agree Allsystemgamer, they couldve easily made it feel and play like it's predecessors and included all the new goodness that would've been in battlefront III had their pre-production meetings not consisted of "We need to get this game out to coincide with and build off the hype of the release of the new movie, so lets just make a battlefield mod".
Of course that would require a 5 year development at least and we all know EA would never allow Dice su...
"looks so authentically Star Wars."
Thats the problem, it looks star wars, but it doesnt play like Battlefront. It doesn't have any of the great things Batllefront 3 was bringing to the table. It's just battlefield, it's a 70 euro expansion pack of something that people on PC have been modding for free for years.
But I will give it that, it's a very beautiful looking star wars mod with an incredible attention to detail, I played the ...
"Seems like since people found out it's 720p on X1 all of a sudden the game is "going to suck"."
Maybe for newcomers and immature folk who primarily spew hatred for nonsensical reasons, that's why... but they don't count.
But for people who've been with the IP since the beginning, or for people who've been playing Star Wars games in general for 20+ years, they just consider the whole thing a half assed insult.
...
It's not "cool" to bitch about EA, It's only fair to call out a company on it's bullshit. What an immature view to have on things.
It's not the lack of space battles that is upsetting people, it's the lack of anything that seperated the original Battlefront from other shooters. This is just another Battlefield game with a star wars skin and the last person this was made for, was "the gamer".
That's why people are d...
I think the only people who are okay with this game are diehard Battlefield players and people who never played the original Battlefront games, or who were not following the development of Battlefront 3 closely.
This is just battlefield with a star wars skin, you could save yourself the money by downloading a free star wars mod that exists for several of the battlefield games.
I'll buy in to the series when simultaneous land/space battles are part of the ...
I think a whole generation of RARE being assigned to making Avatar accessories was worth it just for Sea of Thieves alone. Cannot wait for that game!
OH NO YOU DIIIDNT just diss Nobuo Uematsu's music XD Thems fighting words! HAVE AT YE, SALTY DOG!
Skies of Arcadia was a great game though :D SteamPunk all day, every day.
Wind waker, such a beautiful game (before the "hd" version ruined its aesthetic IMO), never understood the fan outrage at the time over the games cel shaded nature considering the series roots. Loved how the explosions and smoke looked!
And I loved sailing around in black flag while they sang sea shantys, especially since one of them is a song my dad plays at gigs, soon as I learned how to switch what song they sing I was always flicking to it (The Leaving of Liverp...
A games financial performance doesn't say anything about the actual quality of the game.
Psychonauts says hello.
I never expected this game to sell well, as with most games like this I'm the only person I know who owns it, meanwhile everyone on my friends list is playing shooters etc (mgo, BFbeta etc etc). Hardly newsworthy, but deinitely discussion worthy that titles like these are still niche, and a lot of people who picked it up on Vita prefer the ...
The scenery looks pretty sweet, but as usual when it comes to making realistic characters they always go with "pretty" over interesting or something that makes sense aesthetically in the ES universe... I mean where did she get that lip gloss?
Same goes with the hair, it's always a bit too Anime/RunwaySupermodel in these mods... Does a dragonborn fighting in the cold harsh environment of Skyrim really have time to pluck her eyebrows?
A good mod ...
The quality and success of this novel not only sanctioned more halo novels to be written, but it caused many other big franchises to dish out novels and other extended media.
MS's franchise development team really did a bang up job of recruiting top talent like Nylund back then, I think he wrote it in like 9 weeks or something!
Totally agree with you on it being the best videogame novel by a long shot!
A better story than halo 1-3/reach...
Bungie had a bad habit of ignoring the books in their halo games from halo 2 onwards.
Why, I'll never know (prob a decision from on high so as not to alienate newcomers?), but it always annoyed me.
Holy crap my entire brain just exploded! I've read this at least once every year for the last 12 years! It's my favourite out of all the halo novels... (I cant speak for any after Ghosts of Onyx, thats the last one I read)
PLEEEEASE BE AWESOME and don't skim on or sugar coat the journey to becoming spartan II's, it needs to be as dark and as brutal as the book was, please don't just focus on the actual fall of reach and stretch out that big battle...
Yeah or that it's actually 100,000's of years IN THE FUTURE after some apocalyptic event reduced humanity to a small handful of people...
There are only so many avenues they can take if we're talking plot twists here, including the ones you mentioned (aliens would be very cool, or maybe advanced humans who managed to escape the planet before said cataclysmic event occured return to reclaim the planet, double twist! XD)
Or even having no plot twis...
Do you not find it more enjoyable to know as little as possible about a game before getting to play it, knowing that the stuff you have seen will be extremely enjoyable (assuming it's your kind of thing).
If not getting an info overload deters you from playing a game then... well I dunno what to say. I find that kind of sad. Devs try and keep things as a surprise for people and get punished for doing so? Cloud Cuckoo Land indeed.
Ah maybe those little boys and girls of N4G just grew up a little :)
Yup, the multiplayer needs to be born from a place of fun rather than necessity (at the risk of sounding like a broken record in here XD).
Last of Us MP is a great example of this, it was an after thought and literally came about 2-3 months before the game went gold from what I recall. And that was one of the most refreshing MP experiences I've had in years :D
Elder Scrolls Online being a prime example of this XD
Or The Old Republic online... Doesn't hold a candle to KOTOR.
Single player all the way for me, as long as developing an MP mode doesn't detract from working on the SP, and the MP is born from a place of fun and not necessity, then I don't mind it being part of the parcel.
Those foundations already existed, they were called Battlefront 1-2 and an unfinished third. Dice chose to ignore those foundations and build a little dirt hill that maybe they'll expand a little bit with DLC that might make the game close to the foundations they shouldve been building off of in the first place.
